Fortrip

Quickstart

From install to a paid order in a few minutes. You need Node.js and a Fortrip account.

You need Node.js 22 or newer and a Fortrip account.

1. Install the skill

Run this once. It adds Fortrip to the agents on your machine that use skills.

npx skills add FortripEngineering/fortrip --skill fortrip-cli

Using a client without skills, such as Cursor, Claude Desktop, claude.ai or ChatGPT? Set it up over MCP instead.

2. Sign in

npx fortrip login

The command prints a link and a code and opens your browser. Sign in to Fortrip, check that the code matches the one in your terminal, and approve. You stay signed in until you run npx fortrip logout. You can skip this step: the first time your agent needs access, it gives you a sign-in link instead.

3. Ask your agent

Find a quiet hotel in Kyoto for two adults, two nights next month, with free cancellation.

The agent searches, compares live offers and creates an order. Before it asks you to pay, it shows the total and currency, the room and dates, the meals, the cancellation terms and any fees paid at the hotel, and asks you to confirm. Then you pay one of the ways the order offers.

Try it by hand

The same steps with the CLI. Each answer is compact text with the ids the next command takes; add --json for the full response.

npx fortrip hotels search --place-name Kyoto --country JP --check-in YYYY-MM-DD --check-out YYYY-MM-DD --room 2
npx fortrip hotels offers --hotel htl_… --check-in YYYY-MM-DD --check-out YYYY-MM-DD --room 2 --require-free-cancellation
npx fortrip hotels book --offer off_… --guest 1:First:Last --first-name First --last-name Last --email you@example.com --phone +1…
npx fortrip orders get ord_…

hotels book answers an unpaid order with its payment.url; nothing is charged until you pay. Open the link to pay there or, when the order's payment.wallets isn't null, pay with Alipay or WeChat Pay:

npx fortrip orders pay ord_… --wallet --total <total>

It prints a WeChat Pay code and a link for each wallet; pay once, by one of them. Use the total exactly as orders get shows it. Each command's usage and options are in the CLI reference.
